Easy Easter Charcuterie Board

What do you put on a charcuterie board?

The real answer is- anything you like. Traditional charcuterie boards consist of different meats and cheeses, but they have evolved over time to be these over the top, fun snack boards. I love including a lot of different foods so that you know each guest will find something they love on the board. Of course, you also can’t forget the crackers!

What do you put on a charcuterie board for Easter?

The same things that you normally would- meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables. Only, it’s a lot of fun to add some pops of Easter to the board with Easter candy- think jelly beans, chocolate eggs, maybe even a chocolate bunny. Whatever your favorite Easter candy is, is great to include.

Easter Charcuterie Board Supplies

Now, to get started creating charcuterie boards, there are some basic supplies you need- a large wooden board, such as a cutting board, or even a large platter will work. You’ll want to have an assortment of small bowls to put different ingredients, such as dips, sauces, or condiments. If you are using different hard or soft cheeses, you’ll want some small knives and spreaders to use for those.

When it comes to food items, I’ll share a list of what we used, but feel free to get creative with your board. You’ll want a few different types of meats- we really enjoy regular genoa salami, as well as prosciutto, sopressata, and my husband also really enjoys mortadella, as well. I recommend visiting your local grocery store that has a nice variety of meats and cheeses- think Publix, Fresh Market, etc… to see what all they have to offer and even try samples.

Then, for cheeses, you can do a mix of harder and softer cheeses. For hard cheese, we’ve used parmesan, gouda, or asiago, and we often just use regular old cheddar cheese sliced into thin slices. For a firm cheese, you could try something like colby, colby jack, or gruyere. You then have semi-soft cheeses like Havarti or muenster, and soft cheeses like goat cheese or mascarpone, which are easily spreadable.

Essentially, there’s no wrong way to make your board, but here’s the list of exactly what we used to put together this delicious grazing board-

  • Easter Charcuterie Board Ingredients:
  • 12-14 oz. of charcuterie meats, we used a mix of salami, prosciutto, and capicola.
  • Cheeses- we used 8 ounces sharp cheddar, 8 ounces pepper jack, and a small wedge of parmesan cheese.
  • Vegetables- baby carrots, broccoli florets, and grape tomatoes, about 1 cup each
  • Fruit- Two large bunches of grapes, 1 cup strawberries, and (1) 6 oz. package of blackberries
  • 5-6 baby dill pickles
  • 1 sleeve of Town House buttery snack crackers
  • Easter candy- we used edible grass, pastel M&Ms, and Peeps marshmallows

Step 2: Begin filling in around, I like to keep balance on the board by adding similar ingredients to different areas, such as one type of cheese on one side and another on the other side.

Step 3: We shaped our sharp cheddar cheese like a carrot and added an extra sprig of dill from the veggie dip for a fun touch.
