You are just going to love this fun Grinch bark recipe! It is so cute for the holiday season and watching one of our favorite Christmas movies- How the Grinch Stole Christmas! It is such a classic movie that has become a family tradition, and this is the perfect treat for the Christmas season whether you are attending a grinch themed Christmas party, hosting a Grinch movie night, or making homemade candy gifts! Normally we would use chocolate chips or white chocolate chips to make candy bark, but we had a lot of fun using melting wafers and candy melts for this great recipe.

Grinch Bark Recipe

This is such a cute recipe that is perfect for that Christmas time sweet tooth. Your whole family will enjoy this festive treat.

Here’s everything you’ll need-

Grinch Bark Ingredients:

  • 10 oz. white vanilla or white chocolate candy melts (or sometimes they are called melting wafers)
  • 12 oz. vibrant green Candy Melts (these give us this perfect green color)
  • Green jimmies sprinkles
  • Mini heart sprinkles (we just loved these adorable hearts, you can also use the jumbo heart sprinkles if you prefer)

Directions:

Step 1: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

Step 2: Add the white wafers to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second increments, stirring well between, until melted. Will only take 1-1 ½ minutes total.

Step 3: Pour the white melted candy onto the wax paper or parchment-lined baking sheet and smooth into a thin layer. Move the cookie sheet to the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow the candy to set.

Step 4: Meanwhile, add the green candy melts to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring well in between. Should also only take 1-1 ½ minutes total.

Step 5: Pour the melted green candy over the solid white candy, and smooth over to create a second layer.

Step 6: Sprinkle with green jimmies and mini heart sprinkles. Move to the refrigerator for 2 hours to set completely.

Tips:

  • You can use chocolate chips for this, melted the same way. White chocolate and then white chocolate with a few drops of green food coloring. You could also use almond bark which is typically vanilla flavored and perfect for this idea.
  • If you are worried about microwaving chocolate or candy melts, you can always set up a double boiler, if you have one. We have also created our own double boiler using a medium saucepan and a heat safe glass bowl, such as pyrex.
  • If you can’t find heart sprinkles, red candy hearts will also work great!
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
  • You could also add red or green M&M candies to your bark!

Themed vanilla or chocolate bark is one of our favorite candy recipes. It doesn’t get any easier than this no fuss candy. If you enjoyed this Grinch Bark recipe, you might like these other fun Grinch treats!
