Whether it’s a sweet or salty chex mix recipe, we just love them all. You can whip this snack up in no time, and it makes a large amount, so you’ll have festive crunchy snacks for days.
Why we love this recipe-
- This sweet snack mix is so perfect for Valentine’s Day. We used pink M&Ms and heart sprinkles to make this white chocolate chex mix extra festive for the holiday.
- It is a great recipe to make the week before Valentine’s Day and snack on all week long.
- You can customize your own chex mix. If you want to swap any of our ingredients, such as the cereal mixture, you can absolutely do that. You can add any cereal you like, and you could also get creative with different nuts, bugle chips, and more!
Valentine’s Day Chex Mix Ingredients:
- 4 cups chex cereal (we used rice chex, corn chex is also great)
- 3 cups honey nut cheerios
- 2 cups mini pretzels
- ½ cup pink Valentines M&Ms
- ¼ cup Valentine’s Day sprinkles
- 24 oz. white chocolate chips
Directions:
Step 1: Add a piece of parchment paper or wax paper to a large baking sheet or cookie sheet.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, use a rubber spatula to toss together chex, cheerios, and pretzels.
Step 3: Add about half of the cereal mixture to the baking sheet.
Step 4: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat white chocolate chips on 20 second increments, stirring well between, until melted.
Step 5: Drizzle about half of the melted white chocolate over the first layer of the cereal/pretzel mix.
Step 6: Add the remaining mix to the baking sheet.
Step 7: Drizzle the rest of the white chocolate mixture over top of the new layer.
Step 8: Sprinkle with Valentines sprinkles and M&Ms.
Step 8: Move to the refrigerator to chill for about 30 minutes.
Step 9: After the chocolate has set, break the mix into smaller pieces, and add it to your favorite serving bowl.
Notes & Tips:
- Store any leftovers at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a week.
- If you’d prefer, you can melt the chocolate in a double boiler instead of microwaving.
- You can also swap the white chocolate for vanilla white almond bark, it melts like a dream and can be easier to work with than the chocolate.
- For your Valentine’s Day parties, label this Cupid Crunch, or something extra fun.
