Bisquick Breakfast Bake Ingredients
- Pork sausage
- Bell pepper
- Onion
- Frozen hash brown potatoes (keep frozen until ready to make)
- Shredded cheese
- Bisquick baking mix
- Milk
- Eggs
- Salt and pepper
- Red pepper flakes

How To Make Bisquick Breakfast Casserole
Prep – Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Cook the breakfast sausage – In a large skillet, cook sausage, chopping into small pieces, until sausage is browned.
Add the veggies – Add the bell pepper and onion, and cook a few minutes more, until the veggies are softened.
Drain – Drain the sausage and vegetables, and move them to a large mixing bowl.
Add the cheese – Add about 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese and hashbrowns to the bowl. If the hashbrowns are frozen together, you can microwave them for just a few seconds to knock the ice off and make them easier to work with.
Add to the pan Add this mixture to your 9×13 inch pan and smooth out into an even layer.
Mix the bisquick, eggs and milk – In another large bowl, whisk together the bisquick mix, eggs, milk, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.
Pour over the hashbrowns and sausage – Pour this mixture evenly over the hashbrowns and sausage we layered in the pan.
Top with cheese –Top the casserole with the remaining cheese.
Bake – Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until the casserole is set in the center, the center of the casserole should temp at about 165 degrees.
Substitutions & Tips
- You can use whatever breakfast foods you love in this recipe- try cooked bacon for another fun addition.
- Try any cheese you love- pepper jack and other varieties could add a fun twist and be delicious as well.
- If your breakfast casserole begins to brown a bit too much towards the end of baking, you can tent the pan with foil.
How To Store Leftovers
Move any leftover breakfast bake into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy again.

Yes! You can prepare this recipe up to the point of baking the night before, then pop it into the oven when you are ready to prepare breakfast. This recipe is also great reheated if you want to bake it and then reheat your leftovers.

This Bisquick Breakfast Bake is a delicious and easy bisquick breakfast casserole recipe that will serve a crowd, and you can even make it ahead of time!
Ingredients
- 24 ounces pork breakfast sausage
- 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cups frozen hashbrowns
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup bisquick
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ tsp. Salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 4 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit, and spray a 9x13 inch pan with non stick spray.
- In a large skillet, cook sausage, chopping into small pieces, until browned.
- Add bell peppers and onions to the skillet and cook a few minutes more.
- Drain the sausage and veggies, and add to a large mixing bowl.
- Add hashbrowns and 1 ½ cups shredded cheese. Stir to combine.
- Pour this into the 9x13 pan.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and bisquick. Pour this over the sausage mixture in the pan.
- 15Top with remaining cheese, and bake for 45-50 minutes, until the casserole is set in the center.
Notes
The hashbrowns should be frozen still, but not frozen into one solid block. If they are, thaw them just slightly in the microwave so they are easy to work with.
