How to store leftover Easter Cheese Ball

After Easter celebrations, it’s common to have leftovers, including the beloved cheese ball. To store leftover Easter cheese ball, first, make sure it’s in an airtight container to prevent it from drying out or absorbing odors from other foods in the fridge. If the cheese ball has any toppings or coatings, such as nuts or herbs, consider removing them before storing to maintain freshness. Place the cheese ball in the container and seal it tightly. Then, store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. If you need to store it for a longer period, you can also freeze the cheese ball for up to 1 month. To thaw a frozen cheese ball, move it to the refrigerator the night before you plan to serve it, allowing it to slowly come to room temperature. Enjoy your leftover Easter cheese ball as a delicious snack or appetizer for days to come!

Can I just use store bought shredded cheese?

Yes! I used pre-shredded cheese for the cheese ball, freshly shredded cheese would have a better texture, but it is not required.

What cream cheese can I use?

For best results, use full fat cream cheese, and when it comes to cheese balls, we prefer the good stuff- brand name cream cheese works better because it is such a vital part of the recipe.

What do you serve with a cheeseball?

When serving a cheeseball, it’s important to provide a variety of dippers to accompany the creamy and flavorful spread. Crisp, crunchy crackers are a classic option, with options like buttery Ritz, whole grain wheat thins, or sturdy water crackers all complementing the richness of the cheeseball. Slices of crusty baguette or freshly toasted bread also make a great base for spreading the cheeseball. For a healthier option, fresh vegetable sticks such as celery, carrots, and bell peppers add a refreshing contrast to the rich cheese. Additionally, some people enjoy serving fruit alongside their cheeseball, with options like apple slices, grapes, or even dried apricots providing a sweet and tangy counterpoint to the savory cheese. No matter what you choose, it’s all about providing a variety of textures and flavors to enhance the cheeseball experience.
