Christmas Fudge Recipe

If you love homemade fudge and are looking for an easy fudge recipe for the holiday season, I’ve got you!

Why we love this fudge recipe-

It is so easy! I won’t go so far as to call it a no-fail fudge recipe, but it is so easy, and outside of accidentally burning the chocolate, it is really hard to mess up!

It uses simple ingredients and a really simple process to make. We won’t microwave it, because its too easy to burn chocolate that way, but it’s still such a simple, easy recipe.

Fudge is the perfect holiday treat. It reminds me of watching the Grinch as a kid, and the different types of fudge he has to judge as the holiday cheer-meister.

There’s no long boiling or candy thermometer needed for this recipe, it seriously doesn’t get any easier!

Christmas Fudge Recipe

Christmas Fudge Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • Festive sprinkles for topping

Substitution Ideas-

Chocolate– you could substitute the semi sweet chips for white chocolate chips and it would be yummy! You could also try this with milk chocolate chips!

Add Ins– You can use any sprinkles you prefer, or you could add nuts, top with crushed candy canes, Christmas M&Ms, etc…

Christmas Fudge Directions

Step 1: Line an 8×8 square baking pan with parchment paper, set aside.

Step 2: To a double boiler (or set up a double boiler with boiling water in a pot with a heat safe glass bowl, like pyrex, on top), add chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk and heat over medium heat until melted. As the mixture starts to melt, stir in vanilla.

Step 3: This melted chocolate mixture will go from melting to starting to solidify pretty quickly, so once the chocolate chips are mostly melted, immediately pour the mixture into your prepared pan.

Step 4: Smooth out, then sprinkle the top of the fudge with Christmas sprinkles.

Step 5: Cover the fudge with foil or plastic wrap and move to the refrigerator to set.

Step 6: Allow the fudge to chill for about 4 hours, then cut into small squares.

Enjoy!

Tips:

  • To store this fudge, keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • You can freeze this fudge! Wrap the fudge in plastic wrap, then foil, and then store inside a freezer ziploc bag.

FAQs:

Can I use evaporated milk?

No, unfortunately not, sweetened condensed milk is definitely one ingredient in this recipe you can’t substitute. I like to buy a few cans at a time around the holidays just so I have some on hand if I get the urge to make something.

Can I freeze the fudge to set?

I don’t recommend it. Definitely let it set up in the refrigerator, and if you want to freeze it for later, move it to the freezer after it has set.
