Crockpot Candied Pecans
Candied pecans are a tradition at our house for Christmas, and I really wanted to come up with a recipe I could toss in the crockpot. I knew if these roasted in there, they would make my house smell amazing, and I wasn’t disappointed. This Crockpot Candied Pecans method was so easy and honestly, I felt like they came out better than the ones I normally do on the stovetop.
Crockpot Candied Pecans
Here’s what you’ll need to make these-
- 4 cups halved pecans
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 2 tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup water
Of course, you’ll need your crockpot. I love my Hamilton Beach Crockpot. I’m overdue for a new one, soon, but I’ll definitely be purchasing another Hamilton Beach, this one has been a trooper!
To make these pecans, start by combining the pecan halves, brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Mix to coat the pecans in the sugar and cinnamon.
In a large bowl, combine the egg white, vanilla, and whisk together until well combined. Add the sugar covered pecans to the bowl and toss to coat.
Be sure to coat your crockpot well with non-stick cooking spray. Toss the pecans into your crockpot, and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Add water to the crockpot and stir the pecans well. Cook one more hour on low, stirring once in between. Cover a cookie sheet with a sheet of parchment paper, and once the pecans have finished cooking, lay them out to dry for about an hour. Enjoy, and store in a gallon size bag or other airtight container.
These were seriously so delicious, definitely the way I’ll be making these from now on. I love the way the sugar really stuck to the pecans with this method. They were perfect!
