Patriotic Golden Graham Marshmallow Treats
I absolutely love the 4th of July, it is one of my favorite holidays. I love holidays, but if I had to rank them, it would probably be #1, Christmas, #2, Halloween, and #3, 4th of July. It just embodies all of the things we love about Summer and America. Today I’ve whipped up a super fun golden grahams treats recipe. These golden grahams s’mores bars are going to be a hit at your 4th of July party this year. They are so delicious. You can essentially create these in any theme you want, with regular M&Ms, or even just milk chocolate chips. We made a fun S’mores version with our Golden Grahams S’mores Bars!
They are so easy to make, you need just a few ingredients, but the magic ingredient is Golden Grahams cereal. Golden Grahams is essentially honey graham crackers cereal, making it perfect for s’mores bars that are similar to rice krispies treats with melted marshmallows holding everything together.
Here’s the ingredient list-
- 1 box Golden Grahams (about 8 cups)
- 10 oz bag of miniature marshmallows
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup red, white, and blue M&Ms
- 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
To make them, you’ll start by melting your butter in a large pot over medium heat. Set aside 1/2 cup marshmallows for later. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows to the pot and stir until all of the marshmallows are melted as well. In a large bowl, pour your entire box of Golden Grahams cereal. Pour the melted gooey marshmallows over the cereal.
Add M&M’s, chocolate chips, and extra marshmallows and mix well. Take your 9×13 inch baking dish and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the cereal mixture into the pan. Take a piece of parchment paper, larger than your pan, and use that to press the mixture down into the pan evenly. You can add additional M&M’s if you’d like over the top of the mixture, and press those down, as well.
Allow these to sit in the refrigerator for a few hours to set. Then, enjoy!
I seriously could not stop eating these patriotic golden graham marshmallow cereal treats, and your family and friends will love them this Independence Day! They have quickly become one of our traditions for the holiday. They would go perfectly on your 4th of July spread next to these Strawberry Firecracker Pops from Crayons and Cravings.
